KITCHEN ASSISTANT

Our flavors are built from scratch and almost every ingredient that goes into our ice cream is handmade in our South Philly kitchen. We are looking for an Ice Cream Maker to join our growing production team.
Duties and responsibilities:
Prepare ice cream containers and packaging for finished product
Pint and package finished ice cream into containers cleanly and efficiently
Assist Ice Cream Production Staff with ingredient preparation as needed
Assist with making novelties, such as ice cream tacos and ice cream sandwiches
Properly label, date, pack, and store up to 1000 pints of ice cream each day
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Wash dishes and utensils and make sure they are stored properly
Clean food preparation equipment, floors, and other kitchen tools/areas
Work quickly, efficiently, and with attention to detail
Comply with all Food Safety standards and follow Good Manufacturing Practices while handling food products and equipment
Assist with other general tasks of all kinds as they arise
Requirements:
Age 18+
At least 1 year of experience working in a professional kitchen (prior ice cream-making experience is not necessary)
Passion for food, cooking, teamwork, and quality
High attention to detail
Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks
Ability to tolerate freezing temperatures for moderate periods of time
Knowledge of standard kitchen safety practices and procedures
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
A kind, hard-working, professional, team-oriented attitude
Great communication skills
Job Details and Benefits:
Compensation: $17/hour base pay (depending upon experience), plus an additional $4-$8 per hour in tips. The employee tip rate in 2025 was an average of $5.70/hour. Our company utilizes a tip-pooling structure that benefits both the front and back-of-house.
Hours will be 35 to 40 per week with a consistent schedule.
Work days are Monday-Friday
